Summer Schools on Climate Change in the Coastal Zone - Deadline for application is 30th April 2022.

2022 SSED - Climate Change in the Coastal Zone

July 18 - 23, 2022
Continuing a long series of Summer Schools on Environmental Dynamics that began in 1989, Istituto Veneto di Scienze Lettere ed Arti (IVSLA) is organizing the first of a cycle Schools specifically devoted to the study of Climate Science.
The theme of 2022's edition is Climate Change in the Coastal Zone.
The lectures are intended to focus on open, important problem and cuttingedge research and to stimulate the interaction among the participants.
The School places great emphasis on the organization of group activities by the attendees. In several cases of past schools, working groups have elaborated the early ideas developed in the collective discussions in the months following the school, and have submitted for publication their results. Papers comprising the lecturer in peer-reviewed outlets have been a source of great pride to participants and School organizers in the past.

Corso "Advanced dimensional analysis and self-similarity", 14-15 luglio 2022

Corso "Advanced dimensional analysis and self-similarity"

Parma (in presence) and online, 14/07/2022 - 15/07/2022

Corso "Introduction to Geostatistics". Parma, 2-6 maggio 2022

Lecturer: Prof. J. Jaime Gómez-Hernández (Universitat Politècnica de València)
Parma, 02/05/2022 - 06/05/2022
This short course aims at introducing the basic and theoretical concepts of Geostatistics, its main applications in estimation processes, uncertainty modelling and stochastic simulations. The course combines theory and practice, with the hands-on analysis of a case study. The attendees will be introduced to the open-source geostatistical package SGeMS (Stanford geostatistical modelling software) that will be used during the practical exercises. The course is organized in remote video-lessons that the attendant can follow by alone in an accessibility period of three days. Every two/three lessons, practice sessions and tutoring held in presence at the Campus of the Parma University by the teacher will be carried out.
The course is scheduled to run from 2 to 6 May 2022 and the in-presence sessions will be held on 3, 5, 6 May 2022.
The number of participants is limited to 30. Admission is granted in priority to doctoral students of the University of Parma and to those who will attend lectures in person. There is no registration fee for the course, but participants must cover their own travel and subsistence costs.
